Meet Dr.Shine Ashokan

Dr. Shine Ashokan is a British Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon and a native of Kerala who trained and completed his Specialist Training in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery in Great Britain. Following his Bachelors degree in medicine, he successfully went on to obtain the FRCS Gen Surgery (Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in General Surgery) and then the FRCS Trauma & Orthopaedics (Intercollegiate Fellowship in Trauma & Orthopaedics). Further to this he completed a Fellowship in Arthroplasty and Sports medicine.

His Specialty practice is focussed on Shoulder, Hip & Knee Joint disorders and has a vast experience in both the Conservative and Surgical management of disorders in these Joints.

During his practice in Dubai, Dr Shine has had the privilege and honour of being the treating Surgeon to the different Royal families of the UAE. He has successfully treated World and European Champions and allowed them to return back to competitive levels after their surgeries. He has been pivotal in promoting Medical tourism with patients travelling from Kenya, Tanzania and Nigeria seeking his surgical expertise and treatments.

His main focus is on Joint replacement surgery for Arthritis and Arthroscopic Surgery of the Shoulder and Knee for Sports injury related disorders.

His philosophy in treating patients has been to offer a better understanding of the condition, the best advice and latest treatments available that would allow patients to return back to a good level of physical activity and quality of life. This is evident from the strongly positive testimonials of his patients both in the UK and in the Middle East.

Dr Shine Ashokan's academic interests have lead him to become an Examiner for the Medical Students at University of Warwick and Leicester University. He was a Tutor for Basic Surgical Trainees in the UK and also taught Registrars during his Arthroplasty Fellowship Program at Warwick.

Trauma Surgery
